Limited or no connectivity problems. Help...

Right, when i sign into my wireless on my laptop.....On my imac atm.

It connects fine but then says i have limited or no connectivity. Even though the speed is at 54.0 Mbps and the signal strength is full.

So the connection is there and all the other computers are on it fine apart from this laptop.

I've unplugged and re plugged everything. I;ve got no idea what to do.

Tried disabling the connection the renabling?

Or repairing it if it allows you to?

You have inputted the wrong key.

Make sure you are using the correct security protocol.

Yeah it has a wep key, i'll try redoing it.

Done all the disabling etc but it wont work.

I did the repair thing and it says it cant renew my IP address....

Tbh when mine messes me about like this it is just simply messing me about.

Try restarting the box, either through the settings on Intranet or just unplug the power and plug it back in....

Have you turned the computer off and on?

Sounds stupid but 9/10 times something stupid like that solves the problem you're having for me....

yeah mate its been the same for a while, i've tried all sorts even on other people wireless that i have passwords for etc, so it must be the laptop.

I've done the whole unplug b****cks so many times too.

f**k sake. V annoying.

ah fair enough mate....

Not sure tbh, beyond what's been suggested i'd reinstall the driver for the network card you have and see if that solves it...

As if its not just limited to your network its a fault with the laptop/card and not the key/other shizz

delete the record of it from your prefered networks list and try and load it from scratch. Wireless is great when it works but can be a real pain in the arse when it goes wrong.

Which version of Windows? I believe XP needed an update at some stage for WPA2 (I think).
