Hi,having been a member for a few years i now have been offered my dream liquid yellow 182 by a renault main agent which they have taken in px.reg number kw04wsl.it has a clio sport sticker on it so i wondered if its
worth buying or not?anyone know anything about this car?good or bad?
DONT WANT TO GET A BAD ONE.thanks lee

This vehicle came in as a Part Exchange and will therefore be traded in the current condition, without receiving any mechanical inspection prior to finishing the auction.

They are ebaying the vehicle off as a trade sale, there will be no warranty on it, its not like buying an approved used car. The car doesn't meet their criteria for a used vehicle, it is high mileage and only has 'part service history', this translates into the cambelt hasn't been changed!
You would never catch that on a Renault forecourt.

However,it sold for 3,5k less than the other one.A full service and the belts wouldnt of cost this much...

True, but still needs full service history to be an approved used car...A good buy for someone perhaps but it might have only had 2 services in that 70k.

I know it's a trade sale, just concerns me that a main dealer would sell a car on ebay as a trade sale without even putting it on a ramp to give it a quick once over..

Just seems like a get out clause to me

Low mileage 182 market prices seem to have rallied in the last few months for some reason, especially the Trophy.

I think you're right mate, you're into trophy money also.

I know not everyone wants a trophy but it's still that money group.

I have just sold a LY this week- ( Previous owners is slightly high- which is at the detriment on Price-) However barring that I had the belts done- I couldhave sold it 20 times over - for well over 7k..
Mileage was 34 k-

For the OP the one listed on EBAY - 70k, partial service history & no belts-
IF it was FSH with belts- with that mileage your looking around 6.2k on an 04-
As is- probably 5.5......

IF I was you I wouldn touch that- I would look to buy the one in the for sale section-

Im not saying what I think its worth- but bearing in mind thats been up for sale for an age & the belts are due ( even though the Aux belt is changed it will need doing along with the cambelt) - get rid of the gash window tints-
job done
