little thud putting car in gear

when im sitting at the lights and the cars been out of gear and i put it into first theres a little thud. if i do it once and take it out of gear but keeping the clutch down and put it back into first it doesnt do it.

anyideas what it is? its kinda worrying.

hi mine has always done that as well i have had my 172 for 2years now and have had no problems with the gearbox i even had it checked to see if it was leaking any gearbox oil but it was fine.

im sure its just poor renault build quality and nothing to worry about mate

Sounds like the gear linkage/sysncros arn't perfect. Mines done it for ages.

Best idea is to blip the throttle and then push it into gear.

Mine does it. I've subconciously learned just to be a bit slower putting it in first.

Yip, had mine a week now an I have noticed it does this! Ill put it down to the french build quality

Is this thud not down to the engine moving slightly when the gear is engaged? suggesting a worn mount?
