Liv.Victoria Ins & throttle Bodies

Well, just got off the phone to Liverpool Victoria insurance, and with the exhaust, suspension AND throttle bodies the quote was £818 quid! fantastic, cheaper than Renault insurance WITHOUT the throttle bodies (Over 100 quid cheaper in fact)

Fantastic quote - just hope theyre ok if anything ever happened.

Thats what I thought, Adrian Flux quoted 1200 odd for it, so Im chuffed :D

Although Im sure she said something on the bad side about N20, but Ill tackle that one when I come to it (Ill only do that when I get bored with the TBs LoL)

insurance for - erm, hhhmm, err : throttle bodies - oh yeah? who gives a rats a*se about your insurance you tease. Got some news for us or just fishing you sadistic sod? ;)

Ive been singing their praises for a couple of weeks, just handed over my money to them. It was £400 more expensive than directline but unlimited mods, cant argue with that.

hehehehehe well, work starts at the end of June, to be complete before the York event, Im only giving it so much time in case there are any issues which must have solutions engineered etc, so maybe alot sooner, its all coming along nicely, and it will be done, youll be hearing about it here, including pictures where I can :D

mmmm, end June,, so for a week or so Ill probs have the higher power NA 172 on the forum... are you going to take it on track this summer? If youre interested there are a few good value track days Im going to. Would be a laugh with your TBs .. PM me if youre game..

Heh, I wish I was young, im 28 and LivVic quoted me >£1000 when I can get it for about £600 from elephant (and thats only because I live in London otherwise it would be about £300) I guess Ill stick with Elephants as I doubt Id mod my car too much before the warranty runs out.

try phoning them mate, you might find its a completely different figure - I just couldnt believe it when I phoned, cos they quoted 818 without me saying about any mods, then after Id reeled off the list they still kept to the came quote!

Roamer - I take it you have sourced some suitable TBs already? May I ask who makes them? And are you getting a remapped ECU? Last I heard was that BB Tuning were working hard on cracking the Renault one for a chip for the 172...

  Lionel Richie

You need a new "stand alone" ECU to run the TBs (very fast and furious!!!LOL)

Roamer "maybe" selling TB kits for the 172 including everything

JJ172 any TBs will do, but Roamer is going for Jenvey (they do the BTCC cars)

Hehe, yup ok, its nicely chosen Jenvey single bodies, a new Jenvey manifold (Still waiting to know its been cast and going to be machined) and a new separate ECU is a definate, this also has been chosen, everything is set to roll, and when (not if) we get this sorted to a satifactory solution (ie no issues with warning lights, cold starts ok, aircon functionality doesnt make it stall etc etc etc) it may well be offered as a complete kit, with an approved installer. But details on this will become clearer once weve got it on the car and the development work has been completed - please no-one ask how much its going to be as a kit, cos until we know everything that has to be done, we wont know - but you know itll be posted here when we do.
