Live For Speed - Anyone still play it?

Well, a couple of months ago I splashed out on a new laptop, and recently I redownloaded LFS after quite a while away. I lost a lot of the skins etc I'd made, but I've managed to get hooked again lol.

Even though the development is pretty much dead, plenty of people still play LFS, so I was wondering if anyone on here still plays it.

I used to but there were never many people online when I searched for servers. Shame as I did like that game and thought many of the tracks were good fun and well designed.

To be honest I did think they jumped the shark somewhat when they introduced the F1 Car. I wish they had kept the more amateurish "club" feel to the game.

I have also given up on racing games these days as you can't really be competitive any more without a decent wheel and pedal system and multi monitor setup and I just don't have the space.

I wish a lot of these games (inc console) could have separate leagues and match making to separate pad users from those with a full-on simulator in their bedroom. That is why I haven't bothered moving onto rfactor 2 etc when I quit NFS.

Its meant to be a really good game but I decided I wanted to play iRacing instead as i think its better.

I never got on with iracing. The physics were so so. If you get crossed up you can mash the brake pedal and save it. Also the steering is all wrong in terms of feel. Think i got the first licence and gave up.

Lfs was good for drifting, tyre physics was one of the best. Its been a while though
