Looking to buy this 182

Hi,
I'm new to cliosport & am in need of advice. im going to look at this Clio 182 next Saturday. Here's a link to the advert. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif.../1500/make/renault/model/clio/page/1/usedcars

It is also on gumtree at a price of 2800 and that is the asking price. It has four owners and the original 05 reg will be going on the car. My gathering is that this is a 182 cup, but you experts will know better than me. Also what to look for when viewing/driviving. This will be my first Renault, always liked them & now have the cash to get one. This is a link to the gumtree advert

looks tidy. make sure its got an actual receipt for the belt and dephaser rather than a rubber stamp job. looks like a cup to me, no hids, no windscreen sensor, right colour wheels, no engine cover, cup spoiler etc.

get a check done to see if its been involved in an accident aswell. i use regtxtcheck. basically text the reg and basic ie (a123abc basic) to 78888 and it instantly texts back. costs £3 and its saved my bacon countless times with write offs that havent been listed as such

Belts done at 45k but doesn't mention what mileage is now? Or how long ago exactly?

I'm guessing you are only after a RB Clio 182. My Black Gold 182 is up for sale. 04 plate, 89,000 miles, MOT until OCT 16, Cambelt and Dephaser done this month at Rentech, Recaros and is in very very good condition £3300.

Thanks for the replies. Glad to know its a cup as that's the one I'm after. Just asked the seller about the receipt for the belt & it's only a stamp in a book. just tried the reg text check & it's coming back as unrecognised reg unless I'm putting it in wrong. I can get an experian hpi report done tomorrow through work for free so will do that. How much is it parts and labour combined at a specialised independent to get the belts & dephaser done?

The current mileage is 61k and its sorn off the road so won't go up.

If I were buying another Clio it would either be a known car on here or something cheap from Autotrader and just have the belts etc done as part of your budget.

I am the 3rd owner and the guy before me was a Renault technician and owned it for 7 years. There is a massive folder with receipts for servicing and parts. This is my 5th Renaultsport and have looked after this. I'm down in London near Heathrow.

That's an absolute minter. Put the original suspension on it & you can keep the coilovers. I would seriously buy this. I'm in Telford Shropshire quite far from you I know. I'd have the original Renault seats in it too. Like someone said I'd sooner have a known one off here and that service history is second to none.

it will come with the original suspension as well, and some bits and bobs I've accumulated over the years. For some reason I'm not getting any takers on the Recaros at the moment. I'm not sure what your budget is but if you could stretch to £3300. The Recaros could be sold at a later date.

Just to add the stamp in the book for the belts done is the stamp of a used car forecourt so may be bullshite
