When I first got into cars it was more of looks what I was after, now its more speed/performance with a mixture of both

why do most people think that all big bodykits are done for looks. maxi kit was designed for extra width and increased track. mine was done for both though. looks and the fact i can run 235 or 245 width tyres. these are on 18,s which has not upset the handling as they are no larger in diameter than the orignal 185 55 15,s. but are useful in putting the power down.

Im currently looks with the old 1.2 but its nice when it gets up to speed lol

My 182 shall have both. Coming 2007 hopefully :)

lol, I thought that about the other 1.2 with the Lexus lights, the "speed" coming from the 182 even though it looks loads better too!

  Octavia VRS
speed over looks I'd say

HOWEVER

with my 1.4 I haven't/won't touch the engine as I don't see the point. I'd rather save for a faster car. What I have done tho is subtle mods to try and improve the appearance of the car. However, I have not spent a lot on doing this either as you never get the cash back.

  1.2 clio grande + 172bhp
Speed over looks.

mine is built for speed

I've got a 1.2 red clio grande with a 02 reg 172 cup engine under the

bonnet. the looks from other drivers is priceless as they watch a 1.2 clio

clio pulling away from them :D

  172 coming soon
lets hope you have that transplant declared as a 2ltr then Shaun, and all the necessary upgrades, ie brakes, suspension, harnesses etc etc...

Me too!!

  renault clio 1.4 si 2000
i'd love mine to go fast, but a 1.4 si aint really gonna beat owt except the chavs in their corsa's, and i cant insure a 172 cheaply enough, so im modifying mine with bits i can transfer to a 172 later!! :) and with my new 17's it feels like the 1.2 corsa i learnt in!!! :(

I own a valver so in my opinion it looks stunning as standard, and yet is quick enough to do most stuff! Biased opinion but what can I say!

  Clio 182 FF 2005
both really, but i think making a car fast helps the looks, lowering, alloys etc, coming from a 1.2 with bodykit owner, lol

  Scirocco GT 210
Performance all the way. I really don't care what my car looks like as I don't use it to show off - it's just for me and how it makes me feel when driving it.

Although saying that, the 172 is far too slow for my liking :(

D

dick

stupid poll.

everyone wants a faster car.
everyone wants a car to look nice - just peoples opinions on whats nice are different.

mines lowered and alloys, colour coded, and 182 skirts
I dont like girls that are into cars, tend to be chavs in my experiece. so i keep it mostly standard but like to have it handle nicely when i go on a thrash.
stops me getting the chav image aswell. but guys in the know realise its lightly modded :)

I used to be more interested in looks when I was younger as it wasn't feasable to drive a performance car. Not OTT styling but just making the best of a 1.2 etc as at the time I was driving a 1.2 Clio.

Turned 21 and got a 172 and now it steers towards having a faster car, tends to be the case that the performance cars do have additional styling over the standard models. I drive a Megane 225 so with 18" wheels, bigger bumpers, leather etc it has appealing styling anyway.

  Black/Gold 182
A wolf in sheeps clothing or a sheep in wolf's clothing? The former for me (not that I'm into modifying cars and happen to think that the vast majority of modified cars have been done badly)

  Clio 172 mk2
Much prefer a car for performance

I'm an old kunt now so can afford the insurance on something quick....really not into the garnish/veneer of bodykits etc.

Each to their own though
