Loose passenger side wiper arm

As per the thread linked below, my passenger side wiper arm is loose meaning whilst in operation, the blade frequently swipes off the side of the windscreen and has scratched the pillar. I've tried removing the arm without success - I assume the spline has corroded and has fused itself to the motor spindle. Before I try again, has anyone got a fix? Is it a new motor job or can you replace the wiper arm and spline?

It's probably the linkage...

You need to remove both arms and the scuttle panel to get to it.
