Lost my brakes

  White R26/Stripped Valver
Got a bit of a strange one here, was out in my valver and after a long stretch down the a34 i came off a junction and noticed the brakes felt a lil different but didnt bother me and then down the a43 i came up to a round-a-bout, went for the brakes as you do and the pedal almost went to the floor before they started to work and that how they are now. Checked the fluild and it was full to the top so im guessing no leaks anywhere. Did have a wheel bearing changed so im gonna have a look there, but if anyone knows what the hell might be going on please let me know lol.

Cheers

Mario.

mine was crap the other day so changing the pads and discs. i ended up stopping in the middle of a roundabout, with a car swirving out my way, had to change lanes at the last minute else would have rear ended some car waiting at the roundabout. brake fade was my problem, yours sounds worse. maybe the brake servo ?

Clue could be the wheel bearing change......
If the discs are running out of true due to loose or wrong bearings, they will push the pistons back. Imagine a wheel wobble.
When you go for the brakes, the first push re-aligns the pistons and lines up the discs, but the pedal may already be on the floor.
Those bearings must be bloody loose, have you not noticed a vibration??? I would drive very carefully until you get it seen to.

Happened to me in my xr3, front driveshaft nut had come loose causing the effect described above by BrianR. Check it asap

cheers guys, there are no vibrations at all, did drive 300miles with the dodgy brakes and the wheel is still there. When it first happened i checked the brake fluid it was pretty low. So i filled it up and got home as fast as possible thinking that there was a leak somewhere, but i have noticed the the brakes are working better even locks up sometimes(broken abs sensor on the front right) than when it first happened however the pedal still travels down quite far before i can feel the brakes begin to bite. Will try and get it to the mechanic would did the wheel bearing at some point.
