Lost use of internet connection on Windows XP

Went away on holiday ,came back a week later to try connecting to net to find it was dead ,after originally thinking it was a router problem as i had unplugged it ,it turns out it's my IE .

Any ideas ? i just keep getting cannot display page .

I can't d/l another IE or say Firefox cause i can't obviously connect to net .

Any way i can try setting my start up to say a previous start up date before i went on holiday to go back to different settings ,incase i have changed something i don'trealise i have ?

How are you writing this - lol

goto settings and help and rewind to a previous known good point, or use internet set up wizzard try to make new connection or pay your phone bill,

it should be one of the above

tools > internet options > connection > LAN settings > (and make sure 'auto detect connection settings' is ticked)

restart IE and see how you get on.
