Loud nocking when pushing hard in 1st gear

I have started getting a knocking in 1st gear when accelrating hard, sounds like may be engine mount, but surley its would happen more that just first gear. At ideas? thanks

Check the mounts, it'll be the downpipe hitting the subframe most likely.

I have the same problem. I'm replacing my mounts with the Ktec group N ones

Definitely the engine mounts. It only does it in 1st gear because the car can accelerate the quickest in 1st gear. The greater the acceleration the further backwards the engine will creep if the mounts are worn.

ok must be gear box mount(s) cuz i no my top mount is fine, will pull it to bits 2moz and have a good look about. thanks

having the same problem. Where is the best place to get the mounts? is it worth spending extra for ktec's uprated mounts? see there is another thread on this.
