Low revs & cutting out...

my mum's clio that is. She's got a 53 plate 1.2 Clio and occasionally when it's cold (the engine) the revs will just drop and engine cut out. Stop light illuminates on dash and engine has to be restarted. About 9 months of warranty remains but, can anyone shed any light so we know the basics? Cheers.

Get them to check the timing at a garage m8.

TDC sensor most likly but could also be coil or possible spark plugs.

Also might be the throttle body needs cleaning.

There are other possible problem but they usualy cover 95% of problems.

cheers guys, it only happens in queing traffic when the engine is cold.

*edit* It doesn't display any faults on the dash diagnostic system.
