Lowered 172 MK2

I just thought I would post and say I am the proud owner of a new set of springs. They are only 30mm, but feck me, they dont alf make a difference to the look of the car. It goes round the corners a lot flatter now, easily faster than a cup now. (Dont start you cup owners, I am just teasing. Its a fact anyway. ;))

I cant post any pics as my mate who has the camera is doing a trackday with me in a few weeks (He has an Audi S3) and he doesnt know Ive done it. I am so looking forward to seeing the look on his face.

Im thinking of doing this to my cup. Have you experienced any grinding or rubbing? Also, how stiff does it make the car, is it bearable (spelling?!) or are you jumping around like in a mk1 mini??

Thats settled it then, as soon as the cash is in my grasp, itll be done. What about with a full car load, not that I have 3 others in the car but just incase?

Cheers fellas.

I often have 4 in the car - as long as you get the offset right on the wheels (ET37) its fine. Springs are Eibach.

Yup, 16"s will never give you a problem, only need to be careful with 17"s or bigger. If youre sticking with the oriiginal wheels youll probably find that the ride actually improves. The springs cost about £120, plus about £40 to fit them if you dont do it yourself, then about £30 to get the wheel alignment corrected.

I just got a quote for some PI springs, 30mm drop + fitting for £177.10. But they also said if I was to but the eibachs myself and have them fitted there itll cost me 100 snots for fitting them!!

£100 is crazy money, unless theyre going to do the wheel alignment as well for that. Dont know what the ride would be like with PI springs.

I think Ill wait until I an get some eibachs, something you can trust. I had them fitted to my last car, a focus, and they were superb and not too low.

Cheers for the advice mate.
