and also do springs alone improve handling??

It shouldnt be a problem with your wheels, mines dropped -60mm on pi springs on 17s and i havent had rubbing with 1 person in the back and 2 in the front.

Handling is improved yes, it is a lot stiffer, you will feel EVERY bump in the road though!!

I had problems with the 172 wheels due to offset when i put them on. will a 60mm drop cause further probs??

have u got spacers on the back? if n-ot the wheels qwill rub on the inside due to the difference in offset.

60mm p.is are around 80 quid

Ive got the same shape Clio, 16inch 172 alloys, -60mm PI springs, 5mm spacers on the back.

I have had 5 people in the car with a boot full of luggage, it was proper on its arse - the tyres were up inside the rear arches and I still had no rubbing.

When the car is that loaded the ride is a little harsh (especially for rear passengers) - but when its just me and a mate in, I find the ride acceptable, plus it now has a lot less body roll.

Mike.
