lowering a 1.2

im away to order lowering springs and really wanna go for 60mm all round, but not sure if its the best idea, second idea was 60mm rear, 40mm front, or 40mm all round, im on standard dynamique wheels whats the best option for me?

60mm all round mate, the non sports sit a lot higher as standard so 60 is needed really. I did my old car 60mm all round and didn't regret it....

honestly if anything you want more of a drop on the front than the rear. but 60mm all round seems like the best option.

mind you i have never had the problem of the rear end sitting too high, running lpg stiff -15 springs gave me -60 lol.

im chuntering, -60 do it

60mm is the best for a 1.2 unless you go for collies. I had spax with adjustable dampers on my old one, firm but not backbreaking by any means.
 
Apex. About 110 quid delivered from EuroPerformance. Don't listen to the chatter about them making sports handle like sh*t, they're fine on 1.2s.

the part number for the ones on euro performance matches the one on that site so i would just be better getting them off that other site then?

Additional Notes:
Notes: RN2 - For cars with coil springs fitted all round +RN6 - SP kits will not fit the 1.2 model

thats what it says on the euro performance website?

It just means if you haven't got spring all round they won't go on. You do though, don't worry. I had to ring them and ask them about the same thing. I've got a box of 40's waiting to be put on.

EDIT: Didn't answer the second bit, SP kits means suspension kits. APEX suspension kits wont fit it according to guy on the phone, just the springs will though. You don't need to upgrade shocks with 40/60 drop either.

Heh, just measured the gap between my arches and wheels. 60mm would touch at the back. My wheels are 16" in 195/45/16 - just 3mm or so more than the standard rolling radius.

Thought I should mention it since I pretty much said go for it. I'm not the most technically minded so I dunno, maybe they'll be fine even if the gap is too small.

On the other hand, 40mm will barely half the gap at the front so I'm not happy with putting mine on. Gonna ring up europerformance and see if I can swap. Anyone tried this?

i have 15's on god knows about the tires, everyone else hasnt had a problem with a 60mm drop at the back that i have spoke to, o well they are on their way anyway so will see how it goes when i get them on in a few weeks.

I never got any rubbing on the rear even with a full boot and 3 adults in the back.
However I would recommend you save your money and get uprated dampers imo.

the second picture is exactly what mine will be like, yeah there next on the list, if i get my bike sold then il have them by the end of the month, thats if i get it sold :(
