Lowering a mk3

Ok i have a mk3 and although i can't fault the car at all it does sit a little bit high. Just wondering what options i have if i were to lower it a bit. Basically i want to know what sort of difference this will make to the feel of the car. I've had a few clio's over the years but never lowered a car before. i know it's not going to be cheap but what would the cost be roughly? thanks
