Lowering advice... quick question

  Yozza'd Titanium 182
My younger brother has a 1.2 16v and is mid-way in the process of doing a replica.

He has Front bumper, rear bumper, sideskirts, wings, bullets, front grille... etc

My question is whan its all fitted what springs would be best? Coilovers are too expensive, were not particularly bothered about how smooth of a ride or how spot on the handling is, but how low should we go?

Thanks

  1.2 Dynamique
i recently fitted prolines to mine, nt the lowest of spring, bt perfect for what i wanted, handling is miles better. look on one of the albums on my fb page for before and afters

You can only drop it a maximum of 60mm James unless you get custom springs. Bit of a no brainer?

If your not bothered about ride or handling then lower is 60mm, Apex or something.

A good compromise between ride and handling is the Eibach Sportlines. Had them on my old car and are dead good. Only lower around 35-45mm though.

Springs will be £100+, you can get a set of Rokkor Coilovers for £150 on Ebay, just tell him to save a little longer and get those.

Coils or a matched suspension kit or nothing, springs only work well when using the likes of the Eibach sportlines or prolines on a 172/182 to tighten the handling a touch and give a more aggressive stance.
