Lowering but not too much

Right, i wanna slam my car but all i want to do is make the gap between the tyre and the arch the same distance all round (if that makes sense). Basically, i dont want it to look like a 4x4 which it does at the moment with a big gap above the tyre. How much do u recommend i get it dropped?

i would try to post pics but the damn thing aint workin!

PS... i have 16" rims

well its hard to get an exact!

i.e. u by 35mm drop springs, it might sit at only 30mm drop for first month then drop to 35. but could go as far as 40mm

the back, isnt an exact measurement either. go between 30-40 drop, oyu will be fine!

if u say 30, and anything extra is a bonus.

commen sizes of springs would be 40mm or 60mm drop. both would be fine it just depends how low you want the car to look. there have been many posted pics on this subject. do a search or maybe look in the gallery. anybody got any pics to help the man decide?

depend if u have a boot full of mdf i dont and think the back looks to high on 30mm some people keep telling me it will settle, bloody hell how long do i have to wait.

ok u have 16" rims... so i would say.... yea approx 40-50mm front and 50 on the back. its hard to judge mate.

best way honestly is to measure the centre of your wheel to the arch of the body work, take the measurement. then work out how low u want it to be i.e. what height the tyre is gonno sit. do a bit of calculation and u should have a rough est of how much u wanna drop.

yeah i know, its high aint it!! the thing is i want to be able to have a full car (2 people in the back) without it rubbing on the arches at full suspension travel. Will this be ok at -40mm? also, any way of finding out the offset of them wheels ive fitted and how they will affect the lowering?

60mm mate, ull find that if u lower it 40mm, ull jus end up doin 60 in the end!! 40mm is jus not enough!

some where on your alloys the offset should be stamped mate.

i would honestly say -40mm would make the car look alot smarter and you would should still be able to have ppl in the back without any probs.

no probs dude :D

2 reason i not posted pics yet.

1. i have a nasty scratch going over two of the drivers side doors (dont ask, i was pissed while try to move my car for some1  - £140 atleast to fix gahh)

2. as i cant afford the respray of doors at mo, cant afford to have colour code done either. so car looks pretty much standard. half tempted to do colour code myself, done it before on my old fezzy looked mutz nutz, so might get handy with the cans

which ever mate will get pics up ASAP

oh, what springs should i get? ive got k-tec on my doorstep so could get them to do the work!? what dya reckon?

if your not mechincally minded then get them done by a garage or K-Tec to be safe. if u are then its a pretty simple job if u know wot u gotto do.

i went for G-max myself and fitting myself, but ive got a older car and my dad used to be a mechanic. so ant really got a worry if my car f*cks up. least if u get yours done by some1 else u should have some kinda warrenty on the job, and u know its done right. just the $$

K-Tec good make, G-max are a udner rated make, but are really the mutz nutz! and the other well known names, Apex, Pi, Eibach etc.

be pricy mate, emial them and see?.

seeing as its springs and its a small drop compared to what some ppl do, u could also get some quotes off your local garage. theres quite a few in bournemouth area, 1 in winton high street who seems good enough chap.

might be worth consider looking around if ur buying online, K-Tec are dam good! but u can normally find cheaper, save urself a few £
