anyone know any garage that will lower my clio if i supply the shox and springs?

not too sure mate as I tend to do the work on mine myself. I would offer but I'm too busy and wouldn't want to bugger it up for you, lol. If you wanted a quick trip to glasgow theres someone over there I know of who would do it for you at what I would imagine woudl be a very reasonable price.

Where in edinburgh are you based?

i'd do it yourself, if you're confident, pretty straight forward job on a mk1. depends if you have the tools. all u need is axle stands, trolley jack, torque wrench, spring compressors and a haynes. need to jimmy up a tool for the rear torsion bar, but that's straight forward enough.

if you're confident, and wanna mess with ur car, and lets be fair, mk1's are the easiest to fiddle with, i'd invest in those tools if you haven't got them. best part of owning a mk1 is taking it apart all the time.

cheers guys. im based in blackhall in edinburgh... near murrayfield. im only worried about the torsion bar seizing thats the problem.

Torsion bar should be fine. It's usually only on the 16v clios that they seize as it's an open bar where as the lesser models are closed bar. Still, you would be best getting te torsion bar lowered before the front just incase it is seized.

as long as you put plenty of UB40 in it a few days before doing it, give it time to soak in, it should come out fine. wish i'd lowered mine the other week, instead of just fixing it up to get it through the mot, but time wasn't on my side.

lol, i've taken to calling it that after i came out with it after a long day dicking about with the car the other week. dunno, bit of white man reggae might help it along a bit.
