Lowering MK2 PH2 Clio

I'm considering lowering my Clio but not sure on which springs, how low, or if I should ideally swap the shocks?

I currently have 14" steel wheels on and plan to keep them on for the time being. As I might get them banded in the future

I don't want to be spending hundreds on a set either, as cheep as possible but decent enough

If you're going more than -40mm you should be looking at uprating the shocks, however I'd do it anyway given the age of them if they are still the originals.

I'd personally look for a used set or if you can stretch to it, a used set of coilovers as they'll be cheaper than new and also act as uprated shocks as well as lowering it.

Thanks, I was thinking of going at least 60mm but I did want to buy brand new but I will consider looking for a decent looking set of second hand coilovers, if that will be better.
