Lowering on 17's

Iam thinking of buying a set of Apex -40mm springs for my clio (dynamique 16V). I have 17's and have experienced minor rubbings on the inside of the wheelarches with a heavy load in the back of the car. This happens when turning corners etc.
Is it a bad idea to lower the car as im desperate to give it a more aggressive stance??

this is my dynamique on 17"s and dropped on FK coilovers. approx 70mm front 80mm rear

What offset are the wheels?

Some people have 17s lowered 60mm or more with no rubbing i think.

I'm not sure what the best offset is for base model Mk2s but on here someone does...

on my 172 clio the best offset i found was ET42 - no rubbing at all and lowered bout 50mm
not sure about a non sport model though - PM Fred he will know - im pretty sure ET42 would be best for you as well as it is the back that causes problems more than the front - the front is easy to fix if it rubs anywhere just by removing part of the inner arch but at theback it rubs against the outer arch if you have lower than ET40 offset

Mine is lowered -60mm on 17's and there is only rubbing at full lock.

-60mm on 17's looks the baws mate go for it!

i beleive that 60 on 17's fill the arches perfectly and improve the look 50 times what it was before hand, but it is your decision.
