would it be ok to lower a 1.2 40mm on just springs or would you need dampers aswell

Springs alone are fine but I'd awlways recomend the dampers as well they make for a better ride.

ride will be harsh, but for -40mm unless you're tracking the car then i think dampers wouldn't really be needed.

personally i reckon you'd be okay with just springs - the ride will be a little bit harder but i lowered my 1.6 16v 35mm and although i can feel the road more i enjoy it cos it makes me feel like im actually "driving" rather than sitting there.

As i say i reckon youd be fine with just springs
