Lowering - Springs or Kit? and Make?

Car  C2 VTS from Fri
If I were lowering my car I'd put new dampers on anyway. Is it much better to go with a kit than just lowering springs. What make would be best. It's for a Mk1. Anyone know if the 1.8 8v needs a different set than the generic mk1 parts like the valver? thnx.

get a kit. My cousin just got springs and hes had 3 sets of dampers in 2 years. If you run on standard dampers you'll just wear them out very fast. A kit will last longer and perform better.

I got a spax kit. 40mm. Handles brilliant but i have no basis for comparison. I will mention that at 40mm drop makes the ride very hard so its not brilliant on uk roads.

mynes dropped 55 on front and 60 on back, it is quite a hard ride but not too bad tbh fella, looks smart aswel. Mynes on APEX springs from K Tec. Mk1 dampers are only cheap so may aswel run it on them till summat goes wrong then replace or upgrade.
