Can M.O.T people tell when they aren't original springs ?

No modifications are allowed on cars over here.

Yes, obviously if the tester can see the car is lower,

And most or some springs have the brand printed on and the springs themselves are usually painted a bright colour like red or yellow depending on branding, some though are black like normal...

Would they notice 40mm though ? What if I paint them black ?

Different size alloys, lowering, exhaust etc are the main ones. I cba changing the springs every two years.

Im sure 40mm wouldnt matter so much, im sure they are only looking for stupid lowness
