Lowering with eibachs

  Astra H vxr
Hey people , right I've got a few things to do too my car before I can start spending money on It, but it's bugging me sitting as high as it is lol, thinking about putting a set of eibachs on 30mm front And rear , just wondering if any one has got any pictures off the car lowered 30mm so I can get a rough idea how low my Clio will sit :) thanks Adam

On 16's (ignore the horrendously low cat lol)

Ahhhh cool looks like it sits really nice on 30mm springs :) is 30mm the only size eibachs do? Think 30mm looks perfect IMO :p thanks mate

Sportlines are 30mm and prolines are 15mm...

Ride quality and handling is improved over standard in my opinion. Not a problem at all for the pics [/camerawh*ore]

(these are Dr Jekylls old springs, saw you eyeing them up in his project thread lol)

  Astra H vxr
Yeah he's car did look really nice with the springs on :p just trying to get few more pics lowered 30mm , I'm gunna go for the 30mm ish drop as your car is sitting perfect :D just as I'd like mine to also as you said it's not a bad ride, least the gf Wont moan by the bumpiness lol :)

Is it generally necessary to retrack after fitting either of these spring options ?

  Astra H vxr
right sweet, they all look nice :) drops the car a little but not too muhc :)

ive found some eibachs on kamracing and ktec, but kamracing are cheaper but say they drop the car by 25mm but ktec say they drop the car by 30mm ? i know its only 5mm but do you reckon its worth paying an extra 30quid to lower it 5mm more ? as the car sits quiete high i dont wana get springs and its still sitting quiete high lol but not to low? would 5mm make any differance ? thanks adam

I really rate the sportlines mate. Ride comfort and handling is not at a loss with a little drop, perfect for the standard 182 wheels :) if your going down the 15" wheel route then the ach gap looks a little silly and needs coilovers imo. Good thing is sportlines Hold there value if you come to sell them :)

Kam racing is the cheapest I believe.

ahhhhh sweeet :) yeah ive just ordered some off kamracing ;)
have to say yours looks perfect on sportlines , and looks prefect on coilovers as i saw you drive past on saturday :p car is looking very tasty mate:rasp: thinking off keeping standard wheels atm as i do like the turninis as i was planning to get them, but money is abit tight atm , but i cant stand the standard height on the 182 lol

just a quick question are these the right one for my car as just ordered them and forgot to check if they are lol followed a link and brought lol

Good good, how much did you pay? Got some spring compressors here (somewhere) if you need them.

Cheers for the compliment mate. :) also check out Italian_job's thread as he (along with others) has sportlines and turinis. Something to eye up for the pos future :)

Yep! Hardest part is taking the top mounts off. Make sure you soak them and the hub bolts with plenty of wd40 overnight. I helped sam (wick) with his and was pleasantly easy :)

I'll have a dig out for those compressors tomorrow mate :)

I helped sam (wick) with his and was pleasantly easy after 40minutes of wrestling with them in the dark before remembering to put the car back on the floor

EFA, lol. Once they've been undone once they are very easy to undo again, just that the first time off is a bit of a pig!!

lol i remember doing my saxo ones for time and i ended up taking the strut itsself to kwik fit to undo the bolt at the top ? weird bolt with a funny key shape inside ? that was an absolute pig to do lol, and dont fancy looking like a plonker again not being able to do it, but i dont think i had the right tools at the time anyway :p
