lowering

I have 17" wheels on at the mo and looks a bit high. As everyone will tell me the handling will be s**t lol so will lowereing 40mm help it?

If i was to lower 40mm. Could I just buy springs? or would i need new shocks? will 40mm make it a harsh ride to what i have now.

Thought about 60mm but am i right in thinking this will be harsh ride.

What's a good make to fit on a clio and how much am i looking at .

just bang some 60mm on mate, i never noticed much difference in mine at 60mm until the springs sageed to 90+mm!

on my corsa before the 172 i lowered 60mm and it was the harshest ride ever. could feel every little pot hole. so wondered if it would be like that. Would i need upgraded dampers or are the ones on the 172 good enough

mines been lowered 25mm at front and 15 at the rear and its on 17 inch wheels. very harsh ride tbh. The roads in england are sh1t as well which doesn't help. Pot holes etc shudder through the car, its not good.

thats quite a good height. I think i might want it slightly lower. mifght get 40mm springs all round.

Whats a good make for 172's. I've heard Eibach are good ?

Yeah I was going to lower but thought I would end up losing my splitter on a speed bump lol!! Yeah Eibach are good!

Best drop for your money is Apex 40mm but the ride isn't meant to be too clever...

Eibachs are meant to have a slightly better than standard ride but even the Sportlines look to sit a tad too high at the back, best to hunt out some pics and make your own decisions though.

Yep ride and handling arn't good at all IMO.

Eisback realy are the only ones I'd ever recomend if someone realy want to lower and woulnd't pay the momey for a good setup.

Nope dampers are fine they will wear out quicker but how much is a grey area no one can put a definate time its what you accept mine I was unhappy with after about 50k on stock springs other have had 60k on cars with lowered springs and still be happy.
