Lowering

I wanna lower my car but cant afford a full spring/damper kit at the mo.

If I just get lowering springs and the torsion bar reset for a 35mm drop will this improve the handling? I can then add Koni\Bilstien shocks later, right?

What springs would you recomend, Ive heard good things said about Eibach, and they got a 1 million km warranty, any thoughts?

Cheers, Si.

I lowered my Mk1, Phase 3 1.2 and the handling improvement is amazing. I used GMax lowering springs on the front (-35mm) and about -37mm on the rear torsion bar. I am still using the original shocks.

I think, though, the 16v is lower than mine to start with.

As for brands, I dunno... I got GMax Springs because someone was selling theirs for a good price. Im well happy with them though.

Looks loads better aswell, even on standard wheels.

Darren.
