Have you gone past the point where it wont actually go any lower ?? coz on a mk1 there is a limit !! To go any lower u need something doing to it !!

  mk1 proto

I GOT A MK1 PHASE 3! enigine aint nefin spesh only a 1.2 but it goes n its quite low! but i like scrapping gum of britons roughest roads so it aint low enuff! i know its easier on the mk1s cos of the torsion bar but i wan da lowest clio!!!! how ave you got urs so low fred?

  Skoda Fabia vRS

mines that low at the front, in fact it was lower i had to raise it a bit

the back end needs bringin down a bit to match, got some ICE to go in with some MDF which will bring it down a bit but probably still needs another click on the bar

  Titanium 182

iv got a proper slam job

i would have went lower, but, the shortend rear shockers that are fully compressed

at the front iv got nearly all the tyre in the arch

il up load a few pictures, and post them in this thread, if some one sends me a link to the up loader

Yer the likes of RLs and RTs can be lowered more then a valver as they sit higher as standard !! So decking a valver 130mm would be suiside !!

  Titanium 182

maybee not?

handles ace, and looks mint :D

but if your talking about the 140mm god knows, how will he get the front low enought to match?>!

I thought the lower the back was.. the more strain there was on the shocks and stuff?

  Titanium 182

:oops:well the shockers do sit up over them selves, so they could break, but theve have only done 600 miles upto now so hopefully not in the nearfuture

i might raise it an inch to sell it:(

  Titanium 182

really fancy a 106gti, just when i test drove that one, i didnt have valver beef  so im going to sell it soon, do a few mods to the 106 then go for the low boost turbo conversion on a low miled car :D

my mates slammed my ex Williams that much Dean, loooks the dogs danglees now and does handle feking awsome!!!!! rubs like a b**ch over bumps tho.... exhaust just scrapes. i think hes going too get the arches done so he can turn it properly tho

  Titanium 182

lol, yeh i keep getting stuck on speedhubs with the exhaust! just as well its a magnex a reno one would probs snap!

i dont know what i can really do to stop the small scrubbage on the front, its only in cars parks etc where it scurbs

dean that is low! im running 15s wit 195/45/15 toyos purely so it is as low as poss! on the front i got standard springs wit 2n a half coils cut off n also half an inch of the bump stop cut off! prob aint safe but as i was sayin its only a 1.2 so i dant go newhere quick enough to be dangerous!wot arch mods you done to yours dean looks like a lot of work has gone into that baby of yours! you guys wit your valvers have got it easier tho! you got extended arhes both front and rear! on the back of mine its tighter than u nuns back passage in a field full of cucumbers! pretty tight!

Dean!

Do some pictures looking straight on and the wheels and not looking down, your pics make it look lower than it really is ;)

It can be dangerous whatever speed youre doing mate - get some proper springs as cutting is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad its untrue.

i oput uo loadsa posts askin if anyine knows of a manufacturer that produces shocks n springs that lower it more than 55mm n there aintr no one! or atleast no one replied so i can only assume that a manufacturer is not known! even coilovers only drop it 55mm which i find shocking!! u got ant other ideas! even hydraulics is difficult to fit onto da clios cos of the torsion bar so they are out of the question unless i wana take out a mortgage!

Ive got a GAZ coilover set and that is the only set that will drop a 16 valver more than 60mm. I could even put it with its bumper on the ground.

The problem with going any lower than about 100 mm is that the driveshafts will rub against the chassis and thats the exact problem I had.

When I just got the coilovers I put it down so much that the tyres were rubbing inside the wheelcasing even when driving straight.

It drove like sh*t, and that was because the ground clearance at the front was just 3-4 cm.

Here a picture of how it is now, the back was almost 2 cm lower, but that was a disaster at every bump in the road, because the rear axel banged against the chassis. Its on 16" wheels by the way with 195/40/16 tyres.

I dont know exactly how low it is, but I think its about a 9-10 cm drop from standard.

And I do hate those speed bumps, but there are even more over here in Holland than in the UK.
