i am interested in attempting to change my clio from single to multipoint fuel injection, has this been done before? are there any 1.4 mk1 phase 2 or 3 clio's that have it on? would it gain any power?

There are no Mk1 MPI 1.4 clios. There is a 1.6 8v MPI engine found in the mk1 megane and some mk2 clios...it's basically a bored out 1.4 SPI and will fit directly in...that'll be your best bet.

I think phase 3 was mpi, thats the impression I was under anywhoo, sounds like way to much hassle to go from spi to mpi

No they were still SPI.
