Mac hard drive

What is recommended? I don't wanna spend loads, just something to back everything up on really in case of a future total Mac meltdown like I've had in the past...

  Vectra :(
I just used an old hard drive i had lying around (used to empty lots of travel agents when the closed down and the cctv systems had harddrives in that i saved from the bin lol) and put it into an enclosure that you can get online for about £30. Worked a treat for me and saved me buying a hardrive built into an enclosure as they were about £150 when i was looking.

Infact ask me nicely and i will have a look if i have anymore drives left and pop you one in the post :D So long as 80gig will be enough as i think thats what they were.

P.S i might not have one as had a garage clean out few weeks back. Can have a look if you want they all you would have to do is format it and buy an enclosure

Thanks v much lol but sounds a bit complicated for me, I just want something I can just buy, plug in and use (ideally)!

i got a toshiba 300gb from pc world.

It took a while to set it up for my mac tho as it was formatted in windblows 2000.
Format it on a pc to xp then format again on osx.
Worth the grief tho

I've not got my laptop working yet so no access to xp - I need something that will work straight away, no hassle, easy, on the Mac.
