Mac/PC compatibility help

Got a bit of a problem and wondering if anything can be done - my other half has always had a mac and has built up a rather large collection of itunes, pictures, etc. on an external hard drive. Some of the itunes stuff is also on the mac's internal hard drive.

I know a fair few of you will dislike what she's done, but she's moved over to a new PC now, so without any of the 'PC's are s**t' talk, can anyone tell me if anything can be done to transfer the data from her ipod or hard drives to the new PC? The PC recognises the ipod and the external drive as being mac formatted and therefore just wants to format everything and start again.

Any help would be appreciated.

You could use your mac to make a fat 32 partition on the external drive then put your mp3's and photos in the fat 32 bit then the PC will see them (thats the theory)

Still got the mac, but she says it's only got a couple of gb of memory on it and that all the data she has on the external drive won't fit on to it - can that be right? I don't know much about macs unless the word 'big' precedes it unfortunately.

Ha. Well yeah. If she's got a 1TB external drive and then only a 500GB HD internal one.

New HDDs are so cheap, you could get a new 1-2TB for £50 from Amazon/Ebuyer...

If it were me, I'd buy a new external HDD, plug that into the new computer, format it so Windows is happy, plug it into the old computer with the old HDD too .. copy/paste, make a cuppa..........

Plug new one into new computer, check all OK, job done with that.

Format old one so Windows is happy, then double back up onto that anything mega important; photos, dissertation, specialist swedish p**n etc...

Then remove trousers, sit back and wait for payment.
