Mac - printer recommendations

We already have an A3 Epson 1290s which is normally ok for us. Proofs etc are done externally if we need them.

Ideally we could do with something quicker, poss colour laser. But once you include the rip etc you start talking £££.

Dont have a fortune to spend, just wondering what any of you guys use ?

We updated to a Epson Sylus Photo 2100 together with the Epson RIP for it here a few years ago which seems much faster for the money than the 1270 and 1290 we had before, and great print quality. Not sure on what is the 2100 equivilent today.

Not anywhere near the speed of colour laser but then is no where near the same cost.

Try and get one with mDNS in it.. then it's awesome. :p

It'll just announce itself on the network then! :D

We still use our Epson A3 inkjet for a few things on the Mac, but the main stuff is handled by a Konica-Minolta colour laser. Works great with the Mac and the ultra-fussy Macboys haven't had cause for complaint....... yet. Don't think it was cheap though - around £7k, iirc.

We also use a Canon iR-5000 for the big, mono laser print runs.
