mac problem (firefox runs slow)

Basically, if i open a dmg file of Firefox and dont install it in my Applications. Everything works fine.

HOWEVER

If i have it installed in my applications. Any audio on websites like youtube or myspace becomes jumpy even if they have downloaded/buffered 100%

I cant figure out whats making it do this?
