Magnecore Leads - clear plastic protection?

Fitted some Magnecore leads, and on leads 1 and 2 at the spark plug end there is a small winding of clear plastic around the lead where it is longer on lead 1. The picture that came with them were the blue ones and didn't show this bit. I am presuming it is some form of protection? And do I remove it? Currently I haven't removed it but it isn't an issue if I need to as I am taking the inlet off tomorrow anyway.

I did follow the picture for how they need to be laid out on the engine using their clips, the above picture doesn't show it well mainly as I changed it once the coil pack was in place

Nope, leave it on there. Prevents/helps the leads from being pinched by the inlets.

Leads 1 and 2 don't need them as there's not a lot of risk of that.
