I assume since its a weekend car your realy got to drive it hard when you do drive it. The tyres will wear out as fast/fatser than the Williams front ones do but its twice the bill as you need to chnage all 4.

Fuel err recon on less than twice the MPG Id say.

Parts arnt that bad I dont think for what they are but you do have to spend a lot maintaining them. Plus theres more bits to brek (twice the amout of drive shafts diffs etc).

I was speaking to an Evo owner who said that running one costs just as much in loan repayments as to maintainince repayments and thats if nothing big breaks.

sh*t loads more. Ask craid adams who just sold his mint scooby for a 106 gti. 20mpg is not good
i only use my car at the weekend so fuel isnt really much of a problem, im just worried about the rest

The only reason I had to get rid of my WRX was because of the running costs, but I was slightly unlucky with mine reliability wise I think+I was not earning much at the time.Insurance wasnt as bad as I thought it would be(1500ish)but it was the fuel that was killing me!I prob spend about half as much a week on petrol in the Williams as I did on the WRX.

If theres anything specific you want to know like Justy said-just ask,I may be able to help.

How old are you? Now hes got the 106 gti he said hes getting 1k insurance back.

Your looking at a ballpark 2x what it costs to run a clio IMHO at least and thats from experience of 2L. turbo 4wd cars.

There good fun though.

I have a legacy GTB twin turbo, basically running all the STi bits underneath.

And no its not cheat at all. Bearings, service items all cost fortunes, take ages to get hold of and install. Little niggles set your brain running because its got 2 turbos and turbos in general arent the most reliable things in the world. Jap cars love throwing up the CEL (check engine light) and your left scattering for the diag clips and finding out that sensors which are pence on clios are hundreds on scoobs.

Then there is the fuel.....i can watch mine go down. 27mpg is the uttermost best at 60mph with the hind behind on a cool night....yawn. Ive consumed a full tank at full speed at the rate of 40ltrs in 7 minutes...

Its fun though lol.....but not cheap.

ive just turned the magic 25 bud with 3 years no claims, that was with tesco

Parts aside the biggest cost is fuel, they use twice the amount that the clio uses but although fun arnt twice as fast.
