major problem i think

my week is going from bad to worse,first the windowscreen surround breaks and now this....just got home from going out,so i pulled up on the drive and went to put the handbrake on when i heard a loud bang and the handbrake comes right up to an almost vertical position...looked under the car and have fluid leaking out.....so i start the car up and put it into first as to pull away with the hanbrake on to test it but the car doesnt move but seems to tilt to one side.....so has the cable snapped on one side and is it ok to drive till friday when i can get it repaired or is it something worse

Well it sounds like a cable has snapped, but that wouldnt cause a fluid leak, where is the fluid?

doh the so called fluid was not from the car so panic over on that little question....so if the cable has snapped like it sounds is it an easy job to repair and do i need to do it straight away or will it be ok as it is til friday

Well it will be ok, obviously you have very little handbrake efffort, so leave it on a level surface in gear!!

Not a bad job to do really!
