Major Sevice - Rough Costs

Does it matter which Renault garage I have this done at or should I have done at the one I know - Because I am sure the cost of the Major service varies as to were you are in the country.

ask for 10% off, I did at arnold clark just to try my luck, I said they offered me it last time, and the girl on the phone said sure, no problem.

lol, cool - What is the rough cost though around the £300 or £400 mark

For the Vee its £232 all in...............less the 10% from Arnie Clark

Is that for a Major Sefvice though - Thought they had to change the Cambelt too

I had heard that as main dealer service costs were astonomic, it is possible to get cars properly serviced by other providers without warranty problems.

Has anyone had any experience of this?

Yeah thats a major service George..............it does not include the cambelt cause that gets done at 72,000miles...............its the auxiliary belt that gets done at 36,000miles.

The only thing that I can think of is that you are in the South cause prices seem to be well up on what they are here in Scotland.

Am goning to ring a garage in Wales and see how much they are as may be there for christmas

What to do George is...................dont go to Wales over Xmas & New Year.... come to Scotland for Hogmany..................thats new years eve in your language eh..............and get your car done at the same time.............course with the savings the drink would be on you yeah

OK George.............so why dont you find out exactly when youre coming up and book it into an Arnold Clark Reno dealer and just get it done up here and save yourself about £100 and if you supply your own oil then probably nearer £150................I could even sell you the correct oil for the £12 it cost when buyimg bulk eh

Infact why dont you come another 45 miles North to Dundee thats where my local Reno dealer is and they are great been recomended on the forum before now

This all sounda great except that the petrol will probably cost me about $50 each way anyway.
