Making Firefox quicker???

Is there a way of making it quicker? I'm sure I seen a thread on how to do it somewhere by changing a few numbers or some-sort but can't find it now,

Have you guys with FF tried Opera?

I think it was Justy (think he may have changed his name now) that posted about changing the config file to make it go quicker.
