Manifold/Downpipe, one part or two??

  RB FF 182
Asked this before a while ago but didn't get any serious responses...

I was told on my MOT that I have a VERY slight leak in my downpipe (section before cat if you want to call it something else!)... I'd rather get it sorted before it gets worse as I know first hand how much a leaky exhaust can effect performance.

I've noticed that manifolds go pretty cheap and was hoping that it was all one part, although they look a nightmare to remove/fit!?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

you more than likely need a new gasket kit for between the manifold and downpipe. They're not one piece, there's a flexible joint right where the downpipe goes under the tunnel and over the subframe

OK mixed response!! haha at least I have some serious answers this time round.

DIY job with ramps do you think? Gaskets can't be that much so get em from a stealer I imagine?

to fit the 182 manifold you need a differenc cat/decat pipe. Can be made from your old 172 downpipe/cat. I've done a few by cutting and welding

I stand corrected . Why didn't they just do a one piece like on the 182? Does it allow for a bit of movement in the zorst?

I'm not to bothered about the 182 manifolds to be honest, to much hastle imo. Just want to make sure I'm not losing power on a leaky exhaust! :)

I'll get some gaskets from the dealers and have a look underneath see if I can sort it.
