Manifold to Cat join (Pic included)

Hi All

Ive had a slight rattle in my 182 exhaust for the last few weeks and i finally got under the car to have a look. I tightened up a loose clamp which seemed to fixed it. However i saw that the mani to cat joint looked interesting. There is no blow or anything escaping from the join but it looks like this

now im sure this cant be right however if its not blowing is it worth changing?

well apart from looking a tad rusty, it looks alright. what makes you think otherwise?

its the rusty part of the car the rest is immaculate! just needs a wire brush get rid of the surface rust , i was just assuming there shouldnt be a gap inbetween?

There's a gasket in the downpipe flange mate. Looks fine to me.

Yeah theres meant to be a gap for the flange, looks fine to me

It'll never come off without a grinder though. (;

perfect thanks guys , its amazing how much rattle can be caused from a tiny clamp being loose!
