Manual Steering Conversion on Valver Part Codes

Ok then which parts will i need? i want all new so if possible could someone give me the part codes and prices of the parts i will need to carry out the conversion. cheers.
Its either this or new PAS pump pipes rack etc and id rather have manual steering! so if anyone can help me with codes and prices thtd be great thanks!

Said it before, bondy does a kit for 50quid with the bracketry/belt and beyond that all you need is a manual column and rack from any less spec mk1 clio.

Nobody else i've met really knows the brackets/belt he uses as he removes the part numbers prior to sending them out. However, i have worked out what he has used (95% sure) and if i'm right you're cheaper going on bondy than renault...from what i can tell he doesn't make any money on the kit!

There are NO valver parts involved in any part of the conversion btw.

how much will it cost for a rack and column then? im wanting new! euro car parts? gsf? renault? which is cheapest and whats their part numbers? thanks!

How hard is this to fit?

About 90quid for a new manual rack from andyspares, column is about 100 or so new from just about everyone. Why buy new though? The manual stuff doesn't suffer the same wear as the PAS stuff...

Quite involved to fit it...subframe needs to be dropped to get rack on/off, dash needs to come to bits to get the column off/on, engine will need jacked up get the PAS pump alternator off then PAS pump, refit alternator with new brackets and fit the new aux belt.

who can fit it for me then lol. well if i get second hand i want something in good condition not something thats been smashed up or anything.
Is there anyone that would fit it for me and know what there doing?

Winston on here would be a good bet as he was one of the first to fit bondys kit on here.

Hes in the n/w of england...don't know if thats close to you?

Good luck.

The steering is heavier on a Williams (wider track etc..) and even with Power Steering, it's MUCH heavier than any other car I've driven.
No PAS is going to be fun!

Aye, if you're soft it is - get some weights and build yourself up like a man!!!

Nah, seriously thought it's not that bad without...TBH i didn't find it any worse than the old RT i had with alloys on :-s

ive managed to come across a rack and column so i just need that kit i believe.... winston did his with the engine out :S lol.
Is bondy actually bondy on the forums?
Thanks

Hmmm...done a search and he doesn't appear to be on the new BB!

I have an ebay link for the 2ltr valver he was selling a while back so you might be able to get him via the contact seller option? It's http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-0-16V-CLIO-...4568745853QQcategoryZ9861QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. Alternatively Winston might have his mobile number (i deleted it off my phone a while back)?

Yes, he did his with the engine out but as i said, you could also drop the subframe off. Will be easiest and simplest lifting the engine up to get to the rack i'd expect. PM Winston though as i think he's set up a 16v buisness...a bit of travelling might save some on garage fees as he'll know the best way to do it.

well thanks to U33db ive contacted bondy or at least i think i have lol.
Il speak to winston about the other bits.
Cheers
