Manufacterer and Dealer Warranty

What is the difference between a Manufacturers Warranty and a Dealers Warranty?

manufacture warranty is valid at all uk garages and it is normally just a year.

dealer warranty is valid just at the dealer (i.e in my case WALKERS) and this normally is two year warranty.

so in total you have 3 years warranty but in some cases all they give you is manufacturers warranty (1 year).
