Mapping Question

  221bhp/ton Mondial Terror
Ive already got an itg panel filter, decat, exhaust, matched inlets and an rs tuning/AWT remap. Im looking at eventually swapping the panel filter for a maxogen and fitting a 182 manifold to my 172 cup. Will i need to have the car mapped again? Or once these mods are done and i do a ecu reset will the ecu adjust for the mods itself?

  a thirsty one
i would leave your tweaked map on, dont reset the ecu you will end up with less than you have now it wont be able to correct to the mods as well as the rs tuning map you already have, contact paul at rs tuning see what he says.

personally fit your new manifold and filter and leave the map alone it will do the job just fine and better than your std ecu map would do, enjoy it mate sounds like a nice set of engine mods you will have there.

I dont think when you do a ecu reset that it wipes off the rs tuning map? But not sure.

Wheres the experts when u need them! lol. Yeah thats what i mean the old disconnect the battery trick! Got a aftermarket HU so dont need to worry bout the code. Doesnt the standard ecu account for small changes in air flow and adjusts?

Yeah the ECU has 6 or 7 inputs (guessing cant remeber exactly prolly more) to calculate how much fuel is needed. You would need another remap to see the *full* benefit of the additional modifications. In reality itl be fine & to confirm. pulling the battery off it will do jack squat but if it makes you feel better then why not. The system will correct itself to some extent regardless
