Corroboration, at last!!!
weird, when i tested it i lost 4bhp :S
strange...i was running a standard car then tho..
Dont think so. His experience mirrors mine exactly.
I think Laingo was unlucky as he had the RS manifold fitted which is widely regarded, even by Ben as being somewhat of a benchmark.

Take care LAINGO!! You are on dangerous ground when you appear to be pulling the rug from under the feet of the forum shibboleths.

Certainly, its getting harder to get a gain on the latter 182's.
Where they start with a better inlet and ex manifold, they also start with a cylinder head that has the extreemly inefficient ex ports which perform approx 25% (35% dimentionally smaller and of worse shape) worse on a like for like basis. Where the early 'bigport' 172's have the benefit of being able to efficiently remove any extra wate exhaust gas easier, the 182's do not have the ability to do so quite so well. The 'behind the scenes' of such gains are alot more complex than simple adding one modification to realise 'x' bhp gain sadly.
I would say you should expect less than others.so are you saying if you have an RS inlet theres not much point in getting it matched ??
I've never had any work done by Ben, but would hesitate in doing so.
He never comes across as anything but truthful and knowledgeable.
Im currently porting your one ads to go back on my engine, ive got pictures of how bad the casting is.
