Maybe silly question - What does the 1998cc stand for?

Hi,

I understand that 1998cc is cubic capicity, but what of? Where ect what are they referring to when they talk about engine size?

Cubic centimetres hence engines being called 1.5 litre, 2 litre etc

isnt it the cc of the cylinders? im never sure my self so eg. a 4 cyl car of 2.0l = 500cc per cylinder lol ?

Yep it's the sum of the volume of all the cylinders
