Measuring Paint Thinkness b4 Pc'ing?

  Williams 2
Hi,
I'm condisering buying a pc etc to sort my cars dull paintwork out, but atm i'm a bit put off about doing it, cos I'm scared of removing too much of the lacquer. I understand that the paint needs to be measured in certian places in order to gain a rough idea of what the paints like. Is the measuring tool fairly cheap to buy and easy to use (how do u know how much paint is thick/thin) or shall I just get a body shop to sort it all out? :S Would like to learn how to do it, and I have read most of the good guides on here to that people have posted. Cheers. Matt

It's easy to get the hang of the PC - you learn more as you use it more.

But do various cars with it - don't polish your own regularly
