i know it says its for a 172 but thought the fitments are the same, just unsure about the (cable throttle models only)

yeah i agree....air filter has nothing to do with throttle cable etc.

looking at it, you would need a custom silicon pipe to take it from a FBW throttle body to that intake pipe. The Cable 172 has different airbox set up.
