Media Control Devices question...

  Leon Cupra R 225
Right, I installed XP Home onto a desktop but I've got no sound at all :(

the media control devices drivers are missing... I think anyway (theres a yellow question mark coming up on the media contol devices section in device manager). What do I need to do? Download drivers, if so where?

Also what should the file names be like, example?

I'm baffled :S

Help please!

If its onboard sound you need to find out what make/model your mobo is. If its a seperate card for sound then whip it out and have a look, it normally says on it what it is.

I use Realtek AC97 Audio Driver (sound drivers) if you do a search on internet they are free to download and use.

It might be best finding out what make/model your motherboard is then you can search for sound drivers for your specific motherboard.

To find out what motherboard you have, search on internet for "belarc advisor" its a free program that once installed will create a profile of all hardware/software on your pc.
