Milltek Decat question.

I have a milltek decat.. What modifications will need to be done to it for it to fit the OEM Renault exhaust system?

In theory it should be as benificial as a decat Designed for the OEM system. Only ask as it looks like it's quite phat lol.

What's the mani fitting kit? Won't be doing it myself. Will get it done at the garage the same time I get it remaped.

It's a kit that you can buy from K-Tec or Renault. It consists of a woven metal gasket, new spring washers and fixings. They're about £25.

i dont think the miltek decat will fit a standard system either unless it comes with an adapter? i guess a reducer will need making up to get you onto the pipe after the v flange from the decat.
you need a decat like the one in the link below with a standard exhaust without cutting/welding/adapting.

So something could be made up to modify the decat to fit. Also wil it work as good, Be as benificial as having the correct decat.

you will need to take it to a place that can cut a section of pipe out and put a couiple of new joins/clamps in. yes it can be done. it will work just the same as a decat thats a straight fit, infact its an advantage having a miltek one as you can use it if you upgrade to an aftermarket exhaust, on a downside, your standard cat will not just fit back in without another pipe/reducer being made up, if you ever need the cat back in that is.

i dont think it worth the faff no. i think as you said, you are better off selling it and getting one thats made for the standard system. straight simple swap then with no real hassle as such. only swapping it back for mot.

btw, if you are selling the miltek one, pm me. i might be interested.

lol! given it some thought and it will be too much hassle for me to have it pres. the back end of my cat is chopped to 2.5" bore, so i would need an adapter making up.

I remember mine being fitted; a Milltek decat which was cut because it could slide OVER the pipe of the back end of my K-tec stealth !
