Mintex Discs & Pads - Any good?

I need to buy some new Front & Rear Discs & Pads for my Clio 172 MK2, renault have quoted me £200 (trade) for just the discs.

I can get Mintex Discs & Pads for about £100 (trade).

Does anybody have Mintex Discs & Pads? if so, how do you rate them?

Also any other recommendations on Discs & Pads?

Cheers

mintex extreme pads suck

don't forget you need new rear wheel bearings also (and you have to swap abs rings over too)

I'm trying Mintex extreme on mine and for a road car they are more than upto the job... unless you put it on track or drive like a t**t they will be better than the stock items.

  172 cup (again)
I purchased standard mintex discs and pads for my cup in Feb 2006, I got them for £88 from a local motor factors and they have been fine, just as good if not better than the originals, no squealing at all

Ive done 11k on them and they have plenty of life left.

Ive not tried them on a track but they dont fade if im having a spirited drive on a good A or B road

Cheers

  Clio 182 cup
I put mintex extreme pads on the front and rear of my cup, teamed up with my 12 grooved discs all round as well and I think they are much better then standard IMO.

Better than standard...howl like a banshee while they are bedding in. :(

Good for the money...but there are a lot better disc/pad combo's out there. :)

To be fair for £88 i'd expect them to be miles better than standard let alone the same or did you mean something else about them?

DS2500s are the better pad I'd say.
